Czech motorcycle racer Veronika Hankocyova is once again facing a long and difficult recovery after suffering serious injuries in a road accident on 25 May.
After spending the last year rebuilding her life and recovering from previous setbacks, Veronika had finally begun returning to something close to normality. Friends and supporters say she was slowly regaining stability both personally and professionally, making the latest accident all the more heartbreaking.
The incident happened in a matter of seconds when a car driver reportedly failed to pay attention while entering the road, leaving Veronika with no opportunity to avoid the collision.
