Alvaro Bautista of Aruba.it Racing – Ducati and Toprak Razgatlioglu from ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team showcased their prowess at Assen on Sunday, sharing the victories. In the ten-lap Tissot Superpole Race, Bautista delivered a stunning comeback performance, charging through the field to snatch the lead from Nicolo Bulega of Aruba.it Racing – Ducati on the penultimate lap.

WSSP Dutch delight for van Straalen

In a standout performance before his home fans, Glenn van Straalen of Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing secured his maiden career victory in the Supersport class. The 18-lap race unfolded under challenging conditions as rain began to descend upon the 4.555km circuit.
As the rain made its presence felt, some riders opted to immediately pit at the end of the first lap, while others waited to switch to wet tyres. Van Straalen, along with the majority of the field, chose to pit a lap later. Gradually, he worked his way through the pack, ultimately seizing the lead with just over four laps remaining. With a composed demeanor, van Straalen etched his name in the history books as the first Dutch winner in the Supersport class at the Dutch Round since Michael van der Mark in 2014.
Securing second place, Adrian Huertas of Aruba.it Racing WorldSSP Team now claims the top spot in the Championship standings, with just three points separating the top four contenders. Niki Tuuli of EAB Racing Team clinched third place, marking his first podium of the season.
Reflecting on his victory, van Straalen acknowledged the challenge of timing the pit stop but praised the grip provided by the wet tyres. He maintained a strong rhythm throughout the race, steadily closing the gap to the leaders.
