Tissot Superpole Race Highlights

The Tissot Superpole Race saw a thrilling three-way battle for victory, which was settled in Alvaro Bautista’s favor on the final lap. The Aruba.it Racing – Ducati rider made a decisive move just three corners before the finish line, overtaking both Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) and Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) to take the win in a close finish.

Toprak Razgatlioglu, who finished second in Race 1, repeated his performance in the Superpole Race. Leading for three laps and setting the fastest time on Lap 7, the Turkish rider couldn’t hold off Bautista’s final-lap charge. Nicolo Bulega also put in a strong performance but had to settle for third.

Race 1 winner Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven) crossed the line in fourth, just ahead of Garrett Gerloff (Bonovo Action BMW) and Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team).

Race 2 Highlights

Starting from pole position, Alvaro Bautista led from start to finish, securing his 63rd career WorldSBK victory. The Ducati rider was pushed throughout the 18-lap race, trading fast laps with Razgatlioglu. However, Bautista broke away in the final three laps, opening a one-second gap to secure the win.

Nicolo Bulega had a more challenging race. Despite starting and finishing in third, he dropped to ninth on Lap 2 before mounting an impressive comeback. Bulega overtook several riders, including Lecuona, Locatelli, and Gerloff, to reclaim a podium spot by Lap 10. By the time he reached third, the leaders were already five seconds ahead, leaving him unable to challenge for a higher position.

Iannone and Gerloff battled for fourth right until the final corner, where Gerloff’s wide run at Turn 16 allowed Iannone to reclaim the spot.

Iker Lecuona’s eighth-place finish moved him ahead of his Team HRC teammate Xavi Vierge in the standings, while Vierge finished in tenth as Honda continues to show strong form.

Championship Standings

Toprak Razgatlioglu extended his championship lead to 39 points over Nicolo Bulega, thanks to his consistent third-place finishes across all three races this weekend.

Alvaro Bautista, with his win, now trails his teammate Bulega by 42 points in the standings.

Danilo Petrucci moved up to fourth, sitting 13 points ahead of Alex Lowes, who was ruled out of action after a crash during the Superpole Race.

Ducati also increased their Manufacturers’ Championship lead over BMW to 42 points.

Post-Race Quotes:

P1 | Alvaro Bautista | Aruba.it Racing – Ducati
“I felt great on the bike today, much better than yesterday when I struggled with the front end in Race 1. I was able to fight for the win in the Superpole Race and make a last-lap overtake. Race 2 was fantastic. I took the lead early and could focus on my pace, though at the start, the bike’s weight was tricky to manage. As the race went on, I felt more comfortable and pushed hard in the final laps. I’m really happy with today and grateful to my team for helping me regain my confidence.”

P2 | Toprak Razgatlioglu | ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team
“I gave it my all at the start, staying close to Alvaro with the plan to fight him in the last five laps. Unfortunately, my pace dropped in the closing stages, and Alvaro had better grip, especially in the long corners. I knew I couldn’t catch him, so I settled for second. He’s made a great comeback, and I’m happy for him, but now I’m focusing on Estoril—I need a win there because finishing second is tough.”

P3 | Nicolo Bulega | Aruba.it Racing – Ducati
“The start was really tough, with aggressive riders forcing me to brake hard and lose positions. I dropped to eighth and got stuck in the middle of the pack. I recovered and made it to the podium, but by then, I’d lost the chance to fight for the top spots. Congratulations to Alvaro and Toprak—they did an amazing job. I’ll push harder next time.”

Race Report: Adrian Huertas Struggles as Yari Montella Dominates

Starting fourth on the grid, Adrian Huertas had a difficult race, dropping to seventh position on the opening lap. Despite being the championship leader, Huertas struggled to make significant progress and ultimately finished in fifth, unable to break through the leading group.

Meanwhile, Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team), who started from the front row, made a strong start but ran wide at Turn 12 and Turn 15 on Lap 2, falling to fifth place. However, the Italian rider quickly regained his momentum, overtaking both Valentin Debise and Can Oncu on consecutive laps. In the second half of the race, Montella’s pace increased significantly. He took the lead from Jorge Navarro (Orelac Racing Verdnatura) on Lap 8 and immediately set the fastest lap, extending his gap to nearly two seconds by the end of the 15-lap race. This marked Montella’s sixth win of the season.

Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) started from pole position and led the race during its opening third. An aggressive overtaking attempt by Navarro resulted in contact between the two riders on the run to Turn 15. However, Manzi managed to reclaim second place on the final lap, earning his tenth runner-up finish of the season.

Jorge Navarro pulled off a late move in the final corner, overtaking Valentin Debise (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team) to secure his second podium of the season.

Championship Standings

Adrian Huertas still leads the championship with a 41-point advantage over Yari Montella, with Stefano Manzi five points further back. Huertas could secure the title in the next round. Valentin Debise has moved into fourth place in the standings, 14 points ahead of Marcel Schroetter, with four races remaining.

Post-Race Quotes:

P1 | Yari Montella | Barni Spark Racing Team
“It was the perfect way to end the weekend. Yesterday, we missed out on a podium while battling with Stefano and Valentin, so today I focused on getting to the front and setting my own pace. That was the key to winning. The start was chaotic, but I kept my focus. My goal is to be fighting for the championship by the final Sunday of the season in Jerez. Supersport isn’t easy, but we need to stay focused on the bike’s setup and find the right direction from the start of each weekend. Estoril is a track I like, and I have good memories there, so I’m looking forward to it as we finish the season.”

WorldSSP300 Race 2: Gennai Wins Thrilling 7-Lap Showdown After Red Flag Incident

Race 2 of WorldSSP300 was shortened to just seven laps after a red flag was waved due to a crash involving Galang Hendra Pratama (ProGP NitiRacing) and Marco Gaggi (Team BrCorse). Mirko Gennai (MTM Kawasaki) clinched the victory by a mere six thousandths of a second over Mahendra and Jose Osuna Saez (DEZA-BOX 77 Racing Team), marking Osuna Saez’s first podium finish of the season.

Race 1 winner Inigo Iglesias (Fusport-RT Motorsport by SKM-Kawasaki) received a double long lap penalty for irresponsible riding and finished outside the points.

Championship Standings

Aldi Mahendra now leads the championship by 16 points over Loris Veneman, with Iglesias trailing by 32 points. Kawasaki has already secured the Manufacturer’s Championship with one round remaining.

Post-Race Quotes:

P1 | Mirko Gennai | MTM Kawasaki
“With only seven laps, this race was incredibly challenging. It’s hard to plan a strategy on the final lap in this class, but when I found myself in the lead, I gave it 110%! As I exited Turn 15 and sped down the long straight, I expected other riders to overtake me, but surprisingly, they didn’t. I’m thrilled to have crossed the line first!”
