Tissot Superpole Race Highlights:

Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team) launched from the outside of the front row and secured a perfect start in the ten-lap Tissot Superpole Race, leading from the beginning. Fresh off his first WorldSBK victory in Race 1, Petrucci followed up with another dominant win. He set the fastest lap on Lap 2 and controlled the race throughout.

In the closing stages, Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) moved from fourth to second, utilizing the SCX compound tire to set the fastest pace on track. After starting in fourth and maintaining that position for most of the race, his patience paid off with a strong second-place finish.

Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven) held second place until the final lap but secured his first podium since the Czech Round’s Race 1. Iannone struggled in the final laps as his tire grip faded but managed a solid third-place finish, holding off Nicolo Bulega.

Pole-sitter Bulega dropped to fifth on the first lap but recovered to finish fourth, earning six valuable World Championship points despite late-race challenges.

Iker Lecuona (Team HRC) capitalized on a harder tire choice to claim fifth place, marking his first consecutive top-five finishes this season. Teammate Xavi Vierge also scored points, continuing Honda’s improved form.

Race 2 Highlights:

Starting from pole, thanks to his Superpole win, Petrucci dominated Race 2, leading every lap and securing his third victory of the weekend, becoming only the fourth rider to win three races in a single WorldSBK round.

Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) started sixth but worked his way into third by Lap 7, overtaking both Lowes and Iannone. Bautista then chased down teammate Bulega and passed him on Lap 20, finishing just a second behind Petrucci after a stellar second half of the race.

Bulega, despite setting the fastest lap, struggled in the final third and had to manage his race after being overtaken by Bautista. He still finished third, earning critical points for the championship.

Garrett Gerloff, starting from ninth, displayed impressive pace to secure fourth, overtaking Lowes on the penultimate lap to become the highest-finishing BMW rider. Michael van der Mark (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) finished seventh.

Lecuona capped off a strong weekend for Honda, finishing sixth and earning three consecutive top-six finishes.

Championship Standings:

Despite missing the last six races due to injury, Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) remains atop the World Championship standings.

Nicolo Bulega, following his fourth-place finish in the Superpole Race and third in Race 2, is now 13 points behind Razgatlioglu.

Podium Quotes:

P1 | Danilo Petrucci | Barni Spark Racing Team:
“This has been one of the best weekends of my career. Winning yesterday was overwhelming, and I didn’t expect to win the Superpole Race too. I was nervous about Race 2, especially with Alvaro, as I knew he’d be faster toward the end. But I built a gap and maintained it. This victory is special, especially because it’s our home round, with our workshop just an hour away. We’re an independent team with small sponsors, and they were all here today, so this win is for them.”

P2 | Alvaro Bautista | Aruba.it Racing – Ducati:
“I’m very happy with today’s results, especially as I’m feeling better physically. After a good Superpole race, I secured a solid starting position for Race 2. My goal was to avoid mistakes, have a clean race, and finish strong, which I did. I was faster than yesterday and pleased with my pace. Congratulations to Danilo for his hat-trick at his home round. I hope I’ll be in better shape for my home race in Aragon.”

P3 | Nicolo Bulega | Aruba.it Racing – Ducati:
“I knew this track would be tough, so two podiums this weekend feel really positive. In Race 2, I had a small battle with Alvaro near the end. His experience and riding style allow him to manage those closing laps better. I pushed hard early, but when Alvaro and Danilo overtook me, I decided to take fewer risks. Third place still makes me happy, and securing 16 points was important for the championship.”

WorldSSP Race 2 Manzi wins as Montella hands Huertas the championship advantage

Stefano Manzi

WorldSSP Race Highlights:

A crash for Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) at Turn 7 during the 20-lap race has shifted the WorldSSP title advantage to Adrian Huertas (Aruba.it Racing WorldSSP Team). Montella, who was leading the race at the time of the incident, saw his championship hopes take a hit, now trailing Huertas by 43 points.

Starting from pole position, Huertas initially lost the lead to Montella on the opening lap. However, he reclaimed the lead before a mistake on Lap 5 dropped him to third place. He then maintained his pace and consistency to finish in second, following Stefano Manzi to the checkered flag.

Manzi’s victory was his first since the Catalan Round in March. The Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing rider took the lead on Lap 10 and managed the race from there, crossing the line more than two seconds ahead of Huertas. This win moves Manzi within seven points of Montella in the championship standings.

Tom Booth-Amos (Motozoo ME AIR Racing) celebrated his first-ever WorldSSP podium. After starting eighth on the grid, Booth-Amos maintained a steady pace throughout the race and finished comfortably ahead of a group battling for fourth.

The fight for fourth place saw Marcel Schroetter (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) overtake Federico Caricasulo (Motozoo ME AIR Racing) in the final laps. Valentin Debise (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team) also passed Caricasulo on the penultimate lap, leaving him in sixth place.

Podium Quotes:

P1 | Stefano Manzi | Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing:
“It feels amazing to win this race! I fought hard the entire race. This one felt different from Race 1 because I was much closer to the leader, but I struggled with rear grip today. I noticed Yari was pushing really hard, and then he made a small mistake and crashed. From that point, I focused on breaking away. Adrian started closing in, but I had strong pace and was able to increase the gap bit by bit. It’s fantastic to be back on the top step, especially after the frustration of finishing second so often.”

Key Takeaways:

  • Race Winner: Stefano Manzi
  • Second Place: Adrian Huertas
  • Third Place: Tom Booth-Amos
  • Championship Leader: Adrian Huertas
  • Yari Montella crashes out while leading, losing the title advantage
