Tissot Superpole Highlights
Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) secured his second pole position of the season with a lap time of 1’32.320. Despite several lap times being deleted due to yellow flag infringements, Razgatlioglu’s pace was unmatched.
Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), a rookie, clocked the second-fastest time and continues his streak of front-row starts in WorldSBK.
Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) achieved his second front-row start in his WorldSBK career.
Four different manufacturers secured the top four positions on the grid.
Race 1 Highlights
The race was contested under challenging conditions with track temperatures exceeding 45°C.
Remy Gardner led the race from the start, with Razgatlioglu and Alvaro Bautista in close pursuit.
Razgatlioglu took the lead on Lap 4 and maintained control to win by 1.782 seconds ahead of Bulega.
Bulega, who initially dropped to sixth, fought his way back to second by Lap 8 but couldn’t challenge Razgatlioglu for the win.
Bautista, struggling with braking issues, remained in the top three throughout and finished third.
Andrea Locatelli (Pata Prometeon Yamaha) won a long battle against Gardner and Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) at his home race.
Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven) finished as the top Independent Rider in seventh, closely trailing the battle for fourth.
Championship Standings
Razgatlioglu’s fourth victory of the season propels him to the top of the championship standings for the first time this season.
This marks BMW’s first lead in the championship since Moscow 2012 with Marco Melandri.
Bulega’s fifth podium narrows the gap to just 13 points separating the top three in the standings after ten races. Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) is three points behind Razgatlioglu after finishing third and securing his eighth podium of the season.
The championship lead has changed hands four times this season, in contrast to last year’s domination by Bautista.

Podium Comments
P1 | Toprak Razgatlioglu | ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team
“It was a very hard race for everyone with the hot conditions. There was less grip from the track. I used the hard front tyre and for the first part of the race it was ok but then I started to lose the front tyre. I want to thank my team for their hard work but it’s not over, we have two more races tomorrow. I’ll give my best tomorrow as my target is to win all three races this weekend!”
P2 | Nicolo Bulega | Aruba.it Racing – Ducati
“Honestly, I lost some time at the start because I took a lot of laps to overtake other riders and have a clear track. At the end of the race I was fast but it was very late because Toprak was very fast. For my first Superbike race in Italy, second place isn’t bad!”
P3 | Alvaro Bautista | Aruba.it Racing – Ducati
“It’s always a nice feeling to be on the podium when the feeling is not the best. I struggled a lot with braking and I lost a lot of time in corner entry. When I tried to push harder the front was sliding and I ran off the line many times. It was important to finish the race and get some points and build confidence for tomorrow.”

“I’m so happy to win here in Italy. This is a home race for my team, but it’s a difficult track for me. Despite the challenges, we managed to stay competitive. My strategy was clever; I waited until the end to attack Yari. It was tough because I wasn’t sure I could overtake him, and there was no margin for error until the end of the race. It worked really well. We are maturing and we’re ready to keep going.”
P2 | Yari Montella | Barni Spark Racing Team
“To be updated with actual quotes from the rider.”

“I was fighting with Mahendra the entire race; it was a great fight. I love racing like this. I tried to maintain a good pace from the start to create a small leading group. I was leading but wasn’t saving the tyre, making the last laps more challenging. However, I had a good strategy and pushed hard in the last lap. Aldi overtook me, but I reclaimed the lead in the final stretch. I’m really happy. Tomorrow, I think I can repeat this performance and will try to improve a bit.”
