Race 1 Recap – WorldSBK
In gusty conditions at the Autodrom Most, Toprak Razgatlioglu powered to his fifth win of the 2024 WorldSBK season, tightening the gap in the championship battle as he took five points out of Nicolo Bulega’s lead.
Starting from the middle of the front row, Bulega grabbed the holeshot and led the opening laps. He kept Razgatlioglu behind until lap five, when the ROKiT BMW rider made a move into Turn 1 and never looked back. By lap 11 of 22, Toprak had opened a lead of over a second and expertly managed that gap to the flag.
Danilo Petrucci started third and held that position throughout the race, riding consistently and with enough pace to keep the chasing group at a comfortable distance.
There was an intense scrap for fourth, with Alex Lowes holding the advantage for most of the race over his twin brother Sam Lowes, only to be overtaken in the closing moments by Alvaro Bautista, who launched a last-lap dive into Turn 1 to snatch fifth.
Bautista had started well down the order on row four and was shuffled back to 16th on the opening lap after getting caught in a collision that took out Andrea Locatelli and Michael van der Mark. The reigning champion regrouped and climbed steadily through the field to finish fifth.
Iker Lecuona kept up his run of solid form, bringing his Honda HRC machine home in seventh.

Post-Race Quotes – WorldSBK
🏆 Toprak Razgatlioglu:
“This was a really important win. We came into the weekend strong, and I’ve missed this kind of feeling. The wind was tough early on, so I had to adapt a bit, but once I got into my rhythm, the pace came. The bike is better now, but we still need more. Hopefully, we can do this again in the next two races.”
🥈 Nicolo Bulega:
“I gave it my best at the start, but once Toprak got by, I could see straight away he had something extra. Second is a strong result, especially after yesterday’s crash. I’m proud of the work we did today.”
🥉 Danilo Petrucci:
“My goal was to stay third and stick to my plan. Toprak and Nicolo were a bit quicker, and I didn’t want to take too many risks. Once I had a gap behind, I focused on keeping a steady pace. This track is physically demanding, and my arms and back were taking a beating. This podium is great for us and well-earned by the whole team.”

Masia Breaks Through in WorldSSP

Jaume Masia delivered a standout performance to claim his first World Supersport win, charging from the fifth row to snatch victory on the final lap at Turn 20. He became the fifth different rider to win in the class this season.
Lucas Mahias started from pole and led the first four laps before fading slightly in the closing stages. Stefano Manzi also had time out front, leading for five laps, but his race ended with a rare crash, his first major mistake this season. Despite that, he retains a 36-point lead in the championship.
Masia’s fastest lap secures him pole for Race 2, joined on the front row by Can Oncu and Mahias. Manzi, despite the crash, will start fourth, just ahead of Valentin Debise, who also went down mid-race.

I timed the pass just right—made sure there was no room for a counterattack. This shows our pace and the great job the team is doing. I’m really proud.”
