Bulega Edges Razgatlioglu in Dramatic Photo Finish

In a thrilling Superpole Race at Estoril, Nicolo Bulega of the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team claimed victory in a nail-biting finish, beating Toprak Razgatlioglu by a mere 0.003 seconds. Bulega, who was in second position coming out of the final corner, surged past Razgatlioglu just as they crossed the finish line, marking his return to the top step of the World Superbike podium.

Razgatlioglu Settles for Second

Despite leading the majority of the race, Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad) had to settle for second. The Turkish rider, who has been locked in a tight championship battle with Bulega, lost his lead on the final lap, making the defeat especially tough as his rival pipped him by the slimmest of margins.

Bautista Completes the Podium

Reigning World Superbike Champion Alvaro Bautista finished third to complete the podium. The Ducati rider, who crashed in the opening race on Saturday, bounced back with a strong performance in the Superpole Race. His solid result on Sunday kept him in the running for vital championship points.

Top Yamaha and Ducati Riders in the Top Five

Andrea Locatelli was the highest-placed Yamaha rider, securing fourth position. The Italian had been in the podium fight during Saturday’s race but unfortunately crashed out. However, he regained form on Sunday with a top-five finish.

Fifth place went to Danilo Petrucci of the Barni Spark Racing Team. Petrucci, like Bautista, also crashed on Saturday but managed to collect valuable points in the Superpole Race.

Lowes Leads Kawasaki Charge

Alex Lowes was the top finisher for Kawasaki, crossing the line in sixth place. The Kawasaki Racing Team rider had shown promising pace earlier, topping the Sunday morning Warm-Up session, but couldn’t break into the top five during the race.

Team HRC Riders Finish Seventh and Eighth

Following a podium finish on Saturday, Team HRC had a less eventful Sunday. Xavi Vierge came home in seventh, followed by his teammate Iker Lecuona in eighth. While both riders put in solid performances, they were unable to replicate their success from the previous day.

Iannone Rounds Out the Top Nine

Andrea Iannone, riding for GoEleven Ducati, rounded out the top nine in the Superpole Race, adding another strong performance to his comeback season.

British Riders Struggle Outside the Points

It was a tough day for the British riders, with five of them finishing outside the points. Scott Redding was the highest-placed Brit in 10th, while Sam Lowes finished 15th. Bradley Ray came home in 18th, followed by Tarran Mackenzie in 19th. Jonathan Rea, who had been running in the top ten, crashed out and finished 22nd, capping a challenging weekend for the Kawasaki veteran.

The dramatic finish between Bulega and Razgatlioglu promises more excitement as the championship battle intensifies. With both riders pushing each other to the limit, the next rounds are sure to provide more high-octane action on the track.
