All or Nothing: Carrasco and Herrera battle for first-ever
WorldWCR title in Jerez
Championship Standings
Ana Carrasco, riding for the Evan Bros Racing Yamaha Team, currently leads the WorldWCR standings with 208 points as the series heads toward its decisive round in Jerez. Close behind her is Maria Herrera of the Klint Forward Factory Team, trailing by just 18 points with a total of 190. In third place is Sara Sanchez from the 511 Terra&Vita Racing Team, 42 points behind Carrasco, with 166 points, keeping her mathematically still in the title race. Carrasco will secure the championship in Race 1 if she finishes with 8 points more than Herrera and loses no more than 17 points to Sanchez.
Beatriz Neila (Ampito / Pata Prometeon Yamaha) and Roberta Ponziani (Yamaha Motoxracing WCR Team) hold fourth and fifth positions in the standings, with 136 and 109 points, respectively.
Performance Insights
Both Ana Carrasco and Sara Sanchez secured victories at the last round in Estoril, with Beatriz Neila returning to the podium in Race 1. As the championship moves to Jerez, the Spanish riders are set to capitalize on their extensive experience at the circuit, a venue they are all familiar with.
Carrasco has a history of strong performances at Jerez, having scored several podiums during her time in WorldSSP300, though a win at the track has so far eluded her. Maria Herrera, meanwhile, has raced at Jerez numerous times and even claimed victory there during the 2014 Spanish Championship. Fresh off her Estoril success, Sara Sanchez will aim to maintain her momentum at Jerez, where she also has experience racing. Neila, who competed at Jerez in WorldSSP300 in 2019, is eager to build on her Estoril podium finish and push for another strong result.
Pakita Ruiz of the PS Racing Team 46+1, having finished sixth in five consecutive races, will be looking to break into the top five at Jerez. Similarly, Andrea Sibaja from the Deza – Box 77 Racing Team, who previously raced at Jerez in the 2022 WorldSSP300, will be hoping for a solid performance on home soil as the Cordoba native returns to familiar ground.
Several other riders, including Tayla Relph (TAYCO Motorsport), Emily Bondi (YART Zelos Black Knights Team), and Jessica Howden (Team Trasimeno), have also participated in track days at Jerez. This collective experience will contribute to a highly competitive field as the season reaches its dramatic conclusion.
