Friday evening’s third qualifying session at the 2025 Isle of Man TT Races got underway at 6:30 p.m., giving riders from the Superbike, Superstock, and Supersport classes a combined 80 minutes on the famous Mountain Course. With plenty of track time on offer, it was expected that most competitors would get solid laps under their belts.

Dean Harrison was the first to set off, riding his Honda Racing Superbike. He was closely followed by Peter Hickman on a Superstock bike, with David Johnson, Ian Hutchinson, Michael Dunlop, and James Hillier—all aboard Superstock machines—next to leave Glencrutchery Road. John McGuinness MBE also joined the fray on his Superbike.

Early in the session, Davey Todd quickly found his rhythm and looked fast from the start. Out on the road, it was Harrison who led the way up toward Parliament Square. But just before 6:40 p.m., the session was halted due to a red flag.

An official statement released shortly before 7:30 p.m. confirmed that the red flag was brought out following an incident involving Peter Hickman, who was riding bike number 10. The crash happened at Kerrowmoar.

According to the update, Hickman was conscious and in stable condition. He was airlifted to Noble’s Hospital by the TT’s medical helicopter, Airmed, for further checks. Organisers said more information on his condition would be shared when available.

As the riders returned to the paddock after being stopped around the course, the weather took a turn. Rain started falling on parts of the circuit, prompting Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson to officially call off the rest of the session.

The next qualifying session is set to take place on Saturday, 31st May.
