Davey Todd delivered a stunning performance on Monday afternoon to win the four-lap RST x D3O Superbike Race at the 2025 Isle of Man TT Races—his third career TT victory. Riding the Monster Energy by 8TEN Racing BMW Motorrad, Todd narrowly beat Michael Dunlop (MD Racing BMW Motorrad) by just 1.296 seconds in a nail-biting finish. Dean Harrison, representing Honda Racing, took the final podium spot in third.

The race began slightly later than the planned 12:00pm start due to two diesel spills around the Mountain Course. Todd got off to a quick start, leading the way at Glen Helen on the first lap with a slim 0.044-second margin over Harrison. Dunlop followed 2.8 seconds further back in third. Rounding out the early top six were Nathan Harrison (H&H Motorcycles Honda), Mike Browne (KTS Racing by Stanley Stewart BMW), and James Hind (North Lincs Components Honda), while several seasoned competitors—such as John McGuinness, Conor Cummins, and Josh Brookes—were surprisingly outside the top ten.

By the time they reached Ballaugh, Todd’s lead had stretched to 2 seconds, and at Ramsey it had grown to nearly 6. Meanwhile, Dunlop closed the gap on Dean Harrison to just one second. Nathan Harrison stayed in fourth, 10 seconds off Dunlop’s pace, while Dominic Herbertson (HRRC/Adam Hewitt Ltd Honda) moved into fifth ahead of Browne.

Todd completed a blistering opening lap at 134.275mph, giving him a 7.8-second cushion over Dunlop, who had taken over second with a 133.236mph lap. Harrison followed closely with a 133.051mph lap. Nathan Harrison broke into the ‘130mph Club’ for the first time, clocking a lap at 131.270mph. Browne (130.748mph) and Herbertson (130.455mph) held steady in fifth and sixth.

Further down the order, David Johnson (Platinum Club Racing Kawasaki), Brookes (Jackson Racing Honda powered by Prosper2), James Hillier (Muc-Off Racing Honda), and Ian Hutchinson (moobob/MLav Racing BMW) filled out the top ten as Hind retired at the Mountain Box.

Dunlop was the quickest to Glen Helen on the second lap, narrowing Todd’s advantage to 5.9 seconds, while Harrison lost more ground. Todd regained some time at Ballaugh, extending the gap to 6.2 seconds, with Harrison slipping back even further. Nathan Harrison maintained fourth, as Herbertson and Johnson advanced to fifth and sixth respectively, pushing Browne down a spot.

By the time they reached Ramsey, Todd had increased his lead to 7.5 seconds. Johnson had overtaken Herbertson for fifth at the Hairpin, with Hillier now in sixth. Attention, however, was firmly on the front, where riders approached the crucial pit stop.

Despite another quick lap of 133.874mph, Todd saw his lead trimmed slightly to 7.1 seconds as Dunlop clocked a quicker 133.967mph. Dean Harrison dropped further behind, now trailing Dunlop by 11.2 seconds after a 132.682mph lap. Nathan Harrison (130.824mph), Johnson (130.603mph), and Brookes (129.887mph) held positions four to six. Browne and Phil Crowe both retired during the pit stop phase.

Todd lost precious seconds in the pits, and by the time he returned to Glencrutchery Road, his lead had shrunk to 1.8 seconds. At Glen Helen on the third lap, it was down to just 1.5. He responded with a strong run to Ballaugh, stretching the margin to 3.086 seconds. However, a wide moment at Parliament Square saw the lead dip again—to 1.9 seconds at Ramsey Hairpin.

By the Bungalow, Todd’s lead had narrowed to 1.1 seconds, but he managed to claw back some time over the Mountain section. Heading into the final lap, his lead was back up to 1.9 seconds. Harrison, now over 25 seconds adrift, remained safely in third. Nathan Harrison held steady in fourth, with Johnson in fifth, just four seconds clear of Hillier. Brookes stayed in seventh but was being chased by McGuinness, while Hutchinson—who had been running just inside the top ten—retired in the pits.

At Glen Helen for the final time, Todd’s advantage had shrunk again—to just two-tenths of a second. A few miles later, Dunlop passed Harrison on the road at Rhencullen, signaling his intent. But Todd responded immediately, increasing the lead to 2.2 seconds by Ballaugh.

At Ramsey Hairpin, the two were still only 1.9 seconds apart, and at the Bungalow, 2.2 seconds again separated them—setting up a dramatic finale. With a final-lap speed of 135.327mph, Todd held on for the win by a razor-thin 1.296 seconds. Dunlop, despite running slightly faster on the final lap at 135.416mph, had to settle for second. Dean Harrison rounded out the podium—his 31st TT top-three finish.

Nathan Harrison (131.113mph) impressed with a strong fourth-place finish, just ahead of Johnson (131.097mph) and Hillier (131.285mph), who completed the top six. McGuinness, Brookes, Michael Evans—who set a personal best of 129.594mph on the Dafabet Racing Honda—and Paul Jordan (Jackson Racing) rounded out the top ten.

Just behind in 12th was Amalric Blanc, who reaffirmed his title as the fastest French rider ever around the Mountain Course with a new personal best of 127.726mph.
