Dorna and FIM Renew til 2060

The FIM and Dorna Sports announce long-term renewal of their agreement, securing the rights to MotoGP™ and all Dorna-run FIM World Championships

Dorna Sports, the rights holder of MotoGP™, and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) are thrilled to announce an extension of their long-term partnership, securing the promotion rights for all Dorna-managed FIM World Championships until 2060. This renewed agreement ensures the continued growth, stability, and unmatched value of MotoGP™ within the global sports landscape.

Since first acquiring the promotion rights for the FIM Grand Prix World Championship in 1992, Dorna has worked alongside the FIM to expand MotoGP™ into a global phenomenon. With the support of the teams’ association (IRTA) and manufacturers association (MSMA), the sport has grown exponentially, creating an unparalleled ecosystem focused on the success and sustainability of MotoGP™.

In addition to driving the global growth of MotoGP™, this partnership has also contributed to the expansion of motorcycle racing worldwide, from grassroots initiatives to the highest levels of competition. The agreement covers a range of FIM World Championships, including the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship (since 2015), the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship (since 2019), the FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship (since 2019), and the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (since 2023). This extension secures the future of these championships for years to come.

Jorge Viegas, President of the FIM, commented:
“This is a crucial moment, providing long-term security for the pinnacle of motorcycle racing. The collaboration between the FIM, Dorna Sports, and other stakeholders has grown stronger over the years, building a solid foundation for the future of MotoGP™ and its related championships. We are deeply grateful to Dorna for their work since 1992 and look forward to ensuring the continued success of MotoGP™.”

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, added:
“We are proud to extend our partnership with the FIM. This long-term agreement solidifies our shared commitment to growing MotoGP™ and delivering value to fans worldwide. The consensus we’ve built within MotoGP™ is unique, and this extension lays the groundwork for further growth and success. We thank the FIM for their support and look forward to an exciting future together.”
