British motorsports enthusiasts will be thrilled to rally behind their beloved compatriot at this year’s Silverstone Monster Energy British Grand Prix MotoGP, taking place from 2nd to 4th August. The latest buzz is that Cal Crutchlow, the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Test Rider hailing from Coventry, has clinched a wildcard entry.

Known for his tenacious spirit and penchant for pushing boundaries, Crutchlow has long been a crowd favorite. Spectators can anticipate an electrifying performance from him as he tackles each lap of the renowned Silverstone Grand Prix circuit, mingling with the elite MotoGP riders and providing local fans with a rare opportunity to witness their heroes in action on home turf.

Reflecting on his imminent 11th British Grand Prix appearance, Crutchlow remarked, “When I got the call in 2021, I truly didn’t envision returning here again, so this opportunity is simply fantastic. Racing on the premier track in the world is a privilege. It’s a track that favors the bold, demands nerve, and boasts an incredible audience. There’s nothing quite like competing in front of your home crowd, and the British fans are unparalleled in their support.”

He fondly recalled his runner-up finish in MotoGP at Silverstone back in 2016, emphasizing the enduring significance of the track in his career. “It’s an honor to ride at Silverstone, especially under the Yamaha banner. I’m eager to hit the track and give it my all,” he added.

Already poised to be a highlight on the British sporting calendar, the Monster Energy British Grand Prix MotoGP has now reached greater heights with Crutchlow’s inclusion. Alongside the thrilling on-track action featuring Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP, the weekend promises a plethora of off-track entertainment. From family-friendly attractions like Monster Energy stunt displays and a bustling Family Zone to team merchandise stalls and diverse trade stands, there’s something for everyone. Moreover, evening festivities will feature performances by renowned artists such as Sigma on Friday, The Kooks on Saturday, and The Darkness on Sunday, accompanied by supporting acts.

Stuart Pringle, CEO of Silverstone, enthusiastically welcomed Crutchlow’s return to his home turf, expressing confidence that it will amplify the excitement of the event. “This is phenomenal news for our fervent British MotoGP fans, and I’m certain they’ll flock to the venue to cheer on Cal, adding an extra layer of thrill to the weekend.
