As the 2025 MotoGP season rolls into its tenth chapter, the paddock touches down at one of the sport’s most iconic venues — the legendary TT Circuit Assen. Known to fans and riders alike as the Cathedral of Speed, the Dutch track holds a unique place in the championship’s history. Every visit feels special, and this year is no different. With momentum firmly in his corner, current points leader Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) arrives fresh off a flawless performance at Mugello, where he bagged the maximum 37 points across the Sprint and Grand Prix races.
Now, with the pressure ramping up, the spotlight shifts to whether anyone can disrupt his charge. The first in line to try is his younger brother and closest challenger, Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP). After a solid runner-up finish in Italy, the #73 is eyeing another big weekend as he works to chip away at Marc’s growing lead in the standings.
Thursday’s media day set the tone for what promises to be a fascinating Dutch Grand Prix. Alex Marquez joined the official Pre-Event Press Conference alongside fellow Mugello podium finisher Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team), Maverick Viñales (Red Bull KTM Tech3), and Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) — each bringing their own storylines into Assen.
Di Giannantonio, riding high after a strong performance in Italy, spoke with renewed confidence about his form and adaptability this season. Viñales, meanwhile, remains one of the more intriguing figures on the grid. Though still searching for consistency, he has repeatedly shown flashes of pace and will look to translate that into a full weekend performance at a circuit where he’s previously gone well.
Bezzecchi, too, enters the weekend with high hopes. He has fond memories of Assen — last year’s pole position and Sprint win are still fresh in the memory — and he’s looking to rebound after a mixed run of results in recent weeks.
Media Day also gave riders the chance to comment on the challenges Assen presents. Known for its flowing corners, rapid transitions, and frequent weather curveballs, the track demands both finesse and fearlessness. When asked about the approach to a track like this, several riders echoed a familiar sentiment: “When the moment comes, I’ll go for it.” It was a phrase repeated by more than one competitor — a reminder that Assen often rewards boldness.
With tension building and the championship picture beginning to take shape, all eyes are now firmly fixed on the Netherlands. Assen rarely fails to deliver — and with names like Marquez, Di Giannantonio, Viñales, and Bezzecchi all eager to leave their mark, Round 10 is shaping up to be another classic at the Cathedral.
