Pirelli Set to Take Over as MotoGP’s Official Tire Supplier from 2027

A major shift is on the horizon for MotoGP, as Pirelli is set to become the exclusive tire supplier for MotoGP, Moto2™, and Moto3™ starting in 2027. The Italian tire giant is finalizing a five-year agreement that will run until 2031, aligning with a new era of MotoGP featuring updated bikes and technical regulations.

This move marks a significant expansion for Pirelli, which already supplies Moto2, Moto3, and much of the Road to MotoGP™. Now, they will step up to the pinnacle of motorcycle racing while also taking over as the official supplier for MotoE™, the sport’s electric world championship.

A Unified Development Path for Future Champions

With a single tire supplier across all categories, MotoGP aims to create a seamless development path for rising stars, allowing riders to gain experience on consistent tire technology as they progress through the ranks. More details on Pirelli’s tire allocations and specifications will be revealed soon.

Michelin to Continue Through 2026

For now, Michelin will remain MotoGP’s exclusive tire supplier until the end of the current technical regulations in 2026. Over the next two seasons, they will continue to provide top-tier performance, safety, and cutting-edge technology, ensuring that MotoGP remains the most thrilling motorsport on the planet.

Michelin will also stay committed to MotoE through 2025 and 2026, pushing the boundaries of sustainable tire technology by incorporating renewable and recycled materials into their products.

With Pirelli preparing to take the reins in 2027, a new chapter in MotoGP’s history is about to begin.
