MM93 takes his 93rd career pole ahead of Bezzecchi and Martin as damp quali delivers a classic in Jerez

Marc Marquez of Gresini Racing MotoGP™ electrified the crowd at the Gran Premio Estrella Galicia 0,0 de España by securing his maiden pole position on a Ducati, marking his 93rd pole in a storied career. Displaying his trademark style, Marquez set the pace in challenging conditions, executing an impressive save at Turn 1. Despite fierce competition, Marquez’s lap remained unbeaten, placing him at the front of the grid ahead of Marco Bezzecchi of Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team and Championship leader Jorge Martin of Prima Pramac Racing.
As Q1 commenced with improving weather but a damp track, the battle for pole intensified. With positions shifting lap by lap, contenders like Brad Binder and wildcard entries Jack Miller and Dani Pedrosa vied for supremacy. Ultimately, Franco Morbidelli of Prima Pramac Racing emerged victorious, securing a front-row start alongside Binder.
In Q2, the drying conditions posed new challenges, with Binder initially leading the charge before Marquez reclaimed the top spot. Despite a thrilling save at Turn 1, Marquez clinched pole position with a remarkable lap time, setting the stage for an exhilarating race day.
The starting grid sees Bezzecchi in second place, closely followed by Martin, promising an exciting front row of both seasoned rivals and emerging talents. Francesco Bagnaia, Morbidelli, and Enea Bastianini form the formidable third row, while Maverick Viñales aims for a strong performance from tenth position. Stay tuned for the Tissot Sprint at 15:00 today and the Grand Prix at 14:00 tomorrow for more thrilling action!
