Dani Holgado Rejoins CFMOTO Aspar Team for Moto2 Debut

Spanish rider Dani Holgado is set to return to the CFMOTO Aspar Team in 2025, stepping up to the Moto2 category. Holgado, who was crowned Junior World Champion with the team in 2021, will now compete alongside Colombian rider David Alonso in the intermediate class. The two have been rivals in Moto3 over the past two seasons but were teammates during the 2020 and 2021 JuniorGP seasons.

Holgado’s return to the team marks a homecoming, as he previously spent two successful seasons with the CFMOTO Aspar Team, securing the Junior World Championship title in 2021 with five victories and eight podiums in twelve races. Since his debut in the World Championship, the Alicante native has accumulated four wins, 14 podiums, and three pole positions across 56 races. Last year, he finished fifth in the World Championship and is currently in contention for the 2023 title, battling against riders like Iván Ortolá, Collin Veijer, and his future teammate, David Alonso.

Dani Holgado’s Statement:
“I’m thrilled to return to the CFMOTO Aspar Team. Winning the Junior World Championship with them in 2021 was a special moment, and now I’m excited to face new challenges in Moto2 with this team. This category change brings many new experiences, but I believe it’s the perfect time for this step in my career. I’m incredibly grateful to the entire team, Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar,’ and Nico Terol for this opportunity—they’re helping me achieve my dream. We still have seven races left as rivals before we embark on this new journey together.”

Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’ on Holgado’s Return:
“We’ve kept a close eye on Dani over the past three years. Although we had to part ways in Moto3, we didn’t hesitate when the chance to bring him back arose. He had a strong season last year and continues to impress this year. We believe that, in Moto2, Dani can continue to grow with us, which is why we’re fully committed to him for the upcoming seasons.”
