Pure dominance was on full display at the Gran Premio YPF Energía de Argentina. Jake Dixon (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) delivered a stunning performance, winning the Moto2 race by 3.5 seconds on his Boscoscuro debut. Meanwhile, Manuel Gonzalez (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) secured P2 and pocketed 20 vital championship points, and Celestino Vietti (Team HDR Heidrun) rounded out the podium in third—his first top-three finish of the season.

Dixon exploded off the line, stealing the holeshot from polesitter Gonzalez. Filip Salač (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) made a strong early impact, initially setting a solid P3 before overtaking Gonzalez to claim P2, giving the Marc VDS team a remarkable 1-2 start.

But Gonzalez wasn’t going to back down. A few laps later, as Dixon continued to ramp up the pace, Gonzalez started closing the gap. On lap 5, Dixon’s lead was 0.488 seconds, growing to 0.526 seconds the following lap. By lap 8, Dixon’s advantage had surpassed one second, and it ballooned to over 1.5 seconds by lap 12.

In the midst of the podium battle, an incident on lap 11 at Turn 5 ended Filip Salač’s race when he tried to pass Marcos Ramirez (OnlyFans American Racing Team). This costly mistake disrupted Ramirez’s momentum as he battled for third, and it also impacted fourth-place contender Aron Canet (Fantic Racing).

As the final laps unfolded, there was nothing left to stop Dixon from cruising to a phenomenal victory. He maintained his lead with ease, while Gonzalez held on for second, finishing 3.5 seconds behind. Vietti, recovering from his earlier setback in Thailand, managed to secure third despite starting from ninth on the grid.

Elsewhere, Aron Canet eventually settled for P4—earning crucial points for the #44—while Marcos Ramirez rounded out the top five. Darryn Binder (ITALJET Gresini Moto2) finished sixth, followed by an impressive Alex Escrig (KLINT Forward Factory Team) in seventh. Alonso Lopez (Team HDR Heidrun), rookie standout Daniel Holgado (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team), and Albert Arenas (ITALJET Gresini Moto2) completed the top 10.

It was a day of spectacular performances, with Dixon’s masterclass taking center stage. Despite the fierce competition, Gonzalez remains at the top of the championship standings as the season heads into Austin in just a couple of weeks.
