The Qatar Airways Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix began with a bang as MotoGP™ returned to Phillip Island in style. A celebratory parade from San Remo across the island welcomed the racers and fans alike, marking the start of an exciting weekend of racing action Down Under.
Leading the parade was Australian favorite Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), accompanied by fellow MotoGP™ riders Joan Mir (Repsol Honda Team) and a trio of local talents: Senna Agius (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP), Joel Kelso (BOE Motorsport), and Jacob Roulstone (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3). Adding to the thrill was a special appearance by MotoGP™ Legend Mick Doohan, who was honored during the event as this year marks the 30th anniversary of his first world championship title. Doohan will also perform a Lap of Honour at the iconic Phillip Island circuit on Sunday before the Grand Prix race.
The festivities kicked off with interviews on stage in San Remo, giving fans a chance to hear from their favorite riders. Following the interviews, the parade wound its way across the island to the racetrack. Upon arriving at Phillip Island, the riders completed a lap of the renowned circuit before posing for a final photo opportunity to capture the memorable event.
