“I’m staying with Aprilia in 2026”

When the MotoGP paddock gathered for Media Day in Brno, anticipation was already high—but Jorge Martin made sure the spotlight stayed firmly on him. Speaking during Thursday’s pre-event press conference, the reigning World Champion made it official: he will remain with Aprilia Racing through the 2026 season.

The confirmation puts an end to months of swirling speculation. Earlier this year, Martin posted on social media that he planned to activate an exit clause in his contract and leave Aprilia at the end of the 2025 season. The team, however, responded quickly at the time, stating that he was already contractually bound to them through 2026. Since then, uncertainty had lingered. But now, the picture is crystal clear: Martin and Aprilia are moving forward together.

Once he took his seat at the mic, Martin didn’t waste any time. “I’m really happy to be back,” he said, reflecting on his return after missing several rounds due to injuries. “It’s been a really difficult six or seven months. I went through a lot—physically and mentally—but I’m glad to be here again, back in MotoGP. And finally, I’m pleased to say I’ll be staying with Aprilia for 2026.”

His announcement was delivered with conviction, bringing clarity to one of the most talked-about contract stories in the paddock this year.

MotoGP Returns to Brno – Thursday Talking Points

Jorge Martin’s contract update may have dominated headlines, but there was plenty more to take away from Thursday’s activities as MotoGP returned to the iconic Brno circuit for the first time since 2020.

The day’s official Pre-Event Press Conference featured a trio of high-profile riders ready to preview Round 12 of the 2025 season. Joining Martin were two-time World Champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), who famously won the Czech GP in 2020, and Luca Marini (Castrol Honda LCR), who impressed many with his top performance last time out at the Sachsenring.

With the summer break looming and the title race heating up, each rider shared their expectations, challenges, and goals for the weekend ahead. Binder reflected on his past success at Brno, noting the unique characteristics of the circuit that suit his aggressive style. Bagnaia, looking to bounce back from recent mixed results, emphasized the importance of a strong finish before the break. Meanwhile, Marini expressed optimism as he continues to adapt to the Honda package and build momentum.

For fans and media alike, it was a busy and engaging return to one of MotoGP’s most historic venues. You can watch the full Pre-Event Press Conference via the official MotoGP website.
