MotoGP Gears Up for Round 11 with Big Expectations
Key Highlights from Media Day as the Championship Touches Down in Germany
Thursday, 10 July 2025
Round 11 of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship brings us to one of the calendar’s most distinctive and technically demanding tracks—Germany’s Sachsenring. Known for its tight layout, relentless left-hand corners, and passionate crowds, the circuit once again sets the stage for what promises to be a crucial weekend in the title fight.
Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) arrives with serious momentum after delivering a clinical victory at Assen’s iconic Cathedral of Speed. The eight-time World Champion now enjoys a commanding 68-point lead over his brother Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP), who is still recovering from a left-hand fracture sustained during the previous round in the Netherlands.
As the paddock sets up camp in Saxony, the question on everyone’s mind is: can anyone stop Marc at what many consider to be his circuit? The #93 has dominated the Sachsenring like no other rider in the modern era, with eight premier class victories to his name. Another win here would only strengthen his grip on the 2025 title race.
However, there are plenty of challengers eager to break his streak. Among them are Alex Marquez—despite his injury—and Ducati Lenovo teammate Francesco Bagnaia, both of whom are hunting for a breakthrough weekend. They’re not alone. Also present at Thursday’s Pre-Event Press Conference were Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing), Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), and rising star Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing). Each of them has their own motivation to shake up the order at Sachsenring.
Bezzecchi is looking to bounce back after a string of mixed results, while Quartararo continues to push Yamaha’s development curve amid a challenging season. Meanwhile, Acosta remains one of the most exciting rookies on the grid, and Sachsenring’s demanding nature could be another key test for the young Spaniard.
With tension building and expectations running high, all eyes are on what unfolds in Germany. Will Marc make it nine at Sachsenring—or will someone finally manage to dethrone the king of the Ring?
