Tommy Bridewell secured his second victory in the 2023 Bennetts British Superbike Championship after a thrilling last-lap battle at Snetterton. The race featured intense competition among three different teams and manufacturers, all vying for the top spot.

In the BikeSocial Sprint Race, Glenn Irwin held the lead heading into the final lap, closely followed by Bridewell, Josh Brookes, and Jason O’Halloran. The fight for supremacy intensified as Bridewell executed a daring move at Nelsons, surpassing his BeerMonster Ducati teammate and seizing the lead.

Irwin attempted to strike back, but Brookes, riding for the FHO Racing BMW Motorrad Team, made a last-corner maneuver at Murrays, securing the second-place position. The battle for third place and the final podium spot ensued, with O’Halloran gaining an advantage on the McAMS Yamaha, managing to hold off Irwin by a mere 0.056 seconds.

Initially, O’Halloran took the lead at the start, but Irwin gained an edge on the opening lap. However, by the seventh lap, Bridewell surged ahead, setting the stage for a captivating duel between the teammates, which Brookes and O’Halloran later joined in the final laps.

Christian Iddon achieved his best result of the season, battling his way to fifth place and distancing himself from the pursuing pack. Danny Kent made a successful comeback, securing the sixth position, followed by Lee Jackson on the Cheshire Mouldings Kawasaki.

Jack Kennedy fought against Charlie Nesbitt to claim eighth place, while Tito Rabat, in his debut with the McAMS Yamaha team, remained in contention near the front and finished within the top ten.

Unfortunately, it was a challenging race for the LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha team, as local contender Ryan Vickers retired, and Kyle Ryde finished in 13th place. Honda Racing UK’s rookie Franco Bourne finished his Bennetts BSB debut in 19th place.
