The TAG Honda Racing team is set to step up their efforts in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship class this weekend during the Brands Hatch season finale. Tom Booth-Amos will be taking the place of Héctor Barberá, who is unable to participate due to an injury sustained in a crash at Donington Park. Additionally, the team will be racing with a BSB Pathway specification Honda as Shaun Winfield returns to the Superbike grid.
Booth-Amos will be making his debut in the Bennetts BSB this weekend and will also be competing for podium finishes in the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship. Meanwhile, Winfield is making a comeback on a BSB Pathway specification Superbike after previously competing in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship.
Booth-Amos expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m eagerly anticipating my first Superbike experience with TAG Honda Racing this weekend. It’s an entirely new challenge for me, and I haven’t had the opportunity to spend time testing the bike with the team. Nevertheless, I’m optimistic that we can make an impact and see how things unfold. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Gary, Rob, and Tracy for having me this weekend.”
Winfield shared his thoughts, stating, “After seeing the Pathway specification Honda Fireblade at Oulton Park and speaking with some of the riders, I was immediately interested. The Superstock category is incredibly competitive, and I’ve had some intense battles there. However, I’m looking forward to returning to the Superbike scene. I have faith in the Pathway bike that TAG Honda has put together, and I can’t wait to get started at Brands Hatch.”
Team Manager Gary Winfield concluded, “There’s no denying that this year hasn’t gone as planned for us. Héctor has been exceptional, both on and off the bike, but we’ve been unlucky with injuries, and as a result, the results haven’t materialized. Tom Booth-Amos is a well-known talent, and we are thrilled to offer him his first taste of competitive Superbike racing.”
