Ryan Vickers Cadwell Park Hall Bends

In a defining moment of the 2023 Bennetts British Superbike Championship season, Ryan Vickers clinched his inaugural Pole Position at Cadwell Park this afternoon during the qualifying session. Executing a blistering lap early in the proceedings, Vickers garnered a strategic advantage over the likes of Leon Haslam and Glenn Irwin.

With the threat of impending rain looming, the riders swiftly emerged from the Pit Lane, each vying for a favorable position on the starting grid. Vickers, piloting the LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha, held a slight edge of 0.048 seconds, positioning himself triumphantly at the helm of the time charts. Haslam and Irwin remained hot on his heels, locked in an intense tussle for prominence.

As the session unfolded, a sudden shower began to impede any hopes of further rapid laps. In a final lap surge that coincided with the cessation of rain, Kyle Ryde launched an audacious attack, narrowly missing out on a front-row starting slot. Nonetheless, his effort secured him a placement ahead of Jason O’Halloran on the second row, with Lee Jackson rounding off the top six.

Meanwhile, the current championship leader, Tommy Bridewell, secured a seventh-place starting position, poised for the challenge ahead. Christian Iddon and the dynamic duo from the FHO Racing BMW Motorrad Team, Peter Hickman and Josh Brookes, sealed positions eighth through tenth, setting the stage for the eagerly anticipated BikeSocial Sprint race.
