Thruxton – Race Two Results
Round Six, Bennetts British Superbike Championship 2025
The second day of action at Thruxton began with the sprint race, shortened to just eight laps after a red flag stoppage. When the chequered flag finally fell, it was Danny Kent who claimed his first victory of the 2025 season.
Kent lined up on pole for the restart, having fought his way to the front during the opening phase before the stoppage. At the drop of the green flag, Christian Iddon made the best launch, taking the lead into turn one, while Kyle Ryde became the rider who spent the most time out front in the middle laps.
Bradley Ray then surged into the lead in the closing stages, but a small mistake left the door wide open. Kent seized the chance, diving through, and Ryde followed him past into second. The final corners became a tense two-rider duel, Ryde trying a move at the high-speed Church corner. Kent anticipated it, moved to cover the line, and then held a tight, defensive trajectory through to the flag, winning by just 0.097 seconds.
This was Kent’s second career BSB victory and his first in dry conditions, the previous coming in wet weather at Brands Hatch in late 2024. The result also extended Yamaha’s extraordinary winning streak at Thruxton to 14 straight races.
Ryde’s second place for Nitrous Competitions Yamaha was a useful result for his title defence, while Ray’s third for Raceways Yamaha marked a return to the podium. Ray’s run was made sweeter by a new race lap record, showing he is back on full pace.

Iddon, unable to stay with the Yamaha trio in the final laps, finished fourth as the leading Kawasaki on his AJN Steelstock machine. His teammate Max Cook, who had started the original race from pole, had to begin the restart from fourth. After losing places early, Cook recovered to sixth but ran out of laps to make further progress.
Andrew Irwin brought his Honda Racing UK bike home in sixth, just one spot behind his season-best result from Race One. Scott Redding had a quiet ride to seventh for PBM Ducati — the best result of the day for the manufacturer — while Leon Haslam finished eighth for Moto Rapido Ducati. Haslam had been quickest in morning warm-up but admitted his lack of a fresh soft tyre hurt his race pace.
Ninth went to Rory Skinner on the Cheshire Mouldings Ducati, who narrowly kept Charlie Nesbitt’s MasterMac Honda behind him at the finish, rounding out the top ten.

Thruxton – Race Three Results
Round Six, Bennetts British Superbike Championship 2025

The Thruxton weekend ended with the feature race, and Danny Kent capped it off in style by completing his first-ever double race win in British Superbikes.
Starting from second on the grid, Kent knew tyre wear would be a decisive factor at the notoriously abrasive Thruxton circuit, especially in hot, sunny conditions. The McAMS Yamaha rider played the long game, holding fourth place for much of the race. In parc fermé, he revealed he had adjusted his gearing — dropping one gear lower than normal — to help preserve his rear tyre.
Out front, Bradley Ray was setting the pace, but Kent began his charge with two laps to go. First, he slipped past Christian Iddon early in the penultimate lap, then positioned himself perfectly through the final sector to pounce on Ray. Ray’s wide exit at the club chicane opened the door, and Kent wasted no time, sweeping into the lead.
Once ahead, Kent kept his Yamaha tidy and composed to the line, winning by 0.196 seconds. The victory gave both rider and team their first BSB double and stretched Yamaha’s Thruxton dominance even further.
Ray, who had earlier lost a small piece of bodywork while battling Iddon, still managed to finish a strong second and extend his championship lead. Iddon, meanwhile, broke the Yamaha 1-2-3 lockout by bringing his AJN Steelstock Kawasaki home in third, securing his first podium of 2025.

Kyle Ryde had been firmly in the lead group until lap thirteen, when he was boxed in during the approach to the chicane. The incident dropped him from third to eighth. Determined to limit the damage, the reigning champion fought back quickly, passing Andrew Irwin and Tommy Bridewell before reeling in Scott Redding for fifth by the finish.
Charlie Nesbitt was the top Honda finisher in sixth for MasterMac, while the battle for seventh saw Leon Haslam (Moto Rapido Ducati) narrowly beat Andrew Irwin (Honda Racing UK). Redding faded late to eighth for PBM Ducati after losing touch with the leaders.
Max Cook brought the second AJN Steelstock Kawasaki home ninth, with Tommy Bridewell rounding out the top ten for Honda Racing UK.
