Bradley Ray Bounces Back in the Dry to Claim Sprint Win

Bradley Ray made a triumphant return to the top step of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship podium on Sunday, taking victory in the second race of the weekend at Oulton Park. It was Ray’s first win since the opening round at Cadwell Park — a long-awaited comeback for the Raceways Yamaha rider after a stretch of near-misses and mechanical frustrations.

Following a two-hour delay due to damp track conditions, Race Two was shortened to an eight-lap sprint. Starting all the way down in 14th on the grid, Ray produced a masterclass in controlled aggression and precision. Lap after lap, he carved through the field, picking off riders with clinical efficiency to seize the lead in the closing stages — a performance that reminded everyone why he remains one of the strongest riders in the paddock when confidence meets grip.

For the second time this weekend, Leon Haslam suffered heartbreak on the final lap. The Moto Rapido Ducati Racing rider had controlled much of the race from the front, but once again saw victory slip from his grasp as Ray made his decisive move in the dying moments. Still, Haslam’s consistency shone through as he collected another podium — his second runner-up finish of the weekend.

Christian Iddon continued his remarkable run of form with another third-place finish. The AJN Steelstock Kawasaki rider’s podium in Race Two marked his third rostrum of the 2025 season, further cementing his position as a constant front-runner in this year’s championship chase.

Championship leader Kyle Ryde managed to limit the damage in fourth place after an intense mid-race battle, while Storm Stacey impressed once more on the Bathams AJN Racing BMW, matching his Saturday result with a solid fifth-place finish.

Honda had a strong showing just outside the top five. Tommy Bridewell led the charge for Honda Racing UK in sixth, followed closely by Charlie Nesbitt (MasterMac Honda) and Josh Brookes (DAO Racing Honda), who finished seventh and eighth respectively — all three displaying steady pace in the tricky, shortened Sprint.

Max Cook delivered another confident performance, notching his second top-ten finish of the weekend for AJN Steelstock Kawasaki in ninth. Rounding out the top ten was Billy McConnell aboard the C&L Fairburn Properties / Look Forward Racing Honda — a welcome result for the Australian after a challenging Saturday.

Scott Redding Ends the Weekend on a High with Fifth Victory of the Season

In the day’s final race, Scott Redding capped off his Oulton Park weekend in style, taking his fifth win of the 2025 British Superbike season — and his fifth since making a triumphant return to the championship.

After a mixed weekend affected by Saturday’s wet conditions, Redding rediscovered his rhythm in the dry, guiding the Hager PBM Ducati to a commanding victory in Race Three. The win not only underlined his growing momentum but also showcased the raw pace that made him a title contender in his first BSB stint years ago.

Bradley Ray, fresh from his Race Two victory, came agonizingly close to a Sunday double. The Raceways Yamaha star pushed Redding hard throughout the final race, eventually settling for second place but clawing back valuable championship points on leader Kyle Ryde — ensuring the title fight remains alive and unpredictable heading into the next round.

Leon Haslam completed a superb weekend with a third-place finish, marking his third podium from three races. His consistency aboard the Moto Rapido Ducati was one of the standout stories of Oulton Park, proving that even amid chaos, Haslam remains one of the most calculating riders on the grid.

Storm Stacey continued to impress with a fourth-place finish — equalling his best result of the year — while championship leader Kyle Ryde crossed the line in fifth to round out another solid, if unspectacular, performance that keeps him firmly at the top of the standings.

Glenn Irwin enjoyed his strongest ride yet aboard the Yamaha R1, finishing sixth in the final race, while Christian Iddon once again led the charge for AJN Steelstock Kawasaki with a seventh-place result, narrowly ahead of teammate Max Cook in eighth.

Reigning 2023 British Superbike Champion Tommy Bridewell was the top Honda finisher in ninth for Honda Racing UK, while Charlie Nesbitt wrapped up his weekend in tenth, rounding out the top ten for MasterMac Honda and ensuring the brand placed three bikes inside the top ten — a solid result for the factory and satellite squads alike.
