Bridewell Reigns Supreme in Race 2 at Brands Hatch BSB

Tommy Bridewell Extends Winning Streak at Brands Hatch BSB Race Two

Tommy Bridewell showcased his dominance once again in the 2023 Bennetts British Superbike Championship during race two at Brands Hatch this afternoon. In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Bridewell surged to the front of the pack and steadily widened the gap, securing a commanding 2.406-second lead at the chequered flag.

At the race’s outset, Danny Kent took the lead, closely followed by Christian Iddon, yesterday’s race winner Ryan Vickers, and Jason O’Halloran. However, the lead changed hands on the second lap as Iddon executed a bold maneuver down the inside at Paddock Hill Bend to seize the advantage.

Not one to be deterred, Kent regained the lead at Surtees on the following lap, but Iddon fought back immediately, pushing the Oxford Products Racing Ducati back into the lead. Both Vickers and O’Halloran were equally eager to capitalize on opportunities to make their moves.

However, on lap seven, Dean Harrison suffered a heavy crash at Paddock Hill Bend, prompting the deployment of the BMW Safety Car. Fortunately, Harrison emerged unscathed from the incident, but Josh Owens also experienced a spill at Graham Hill Bend.

Once the race resumed, Iddon found himself back in the lead, but Bridewell was on the move, steadily advancing through the pack. By lap 12, he had positioned himself at the front and executed a decisive maneuver at Hawthorns to claim the lead over his rivals.

Bridewell then launched his charge, creating a significant gap between himself and the chasing riders. Behind him, a fierce battle ensued for the final two podium positions, with five riders fiercely vying for the coveted spots. Ultimately, Iddon and Kent managed to maintain their advantage, securing consecutive top-three finishes, while Glenn Irwin fought through to clinch fourth place, closely followed by Vickers and O’Halloran.

Kyle Ryde secured the seventh spot, piloting the second LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha, while Lee Jackson secured a lonely eighth place. Josh Brookes and Jack Kennedy completed the top ten with their commendable performances.
